Batman King Tut Tomb Nunzio DeFilippis Christina Weir Jose Luis GarciaLopez Books

I am an avid Batman reader, and while this book differs from the normal canon of Batman lines, it is still quite entertaining.

We have an atypical villain here - King Tut - a lesser known villain for sure. And the story is interesting to read if you're a bit tired of reading about the normal lineup of Batman Rogues.

There are also a few older stories in the back, some random Batman comics from the 80's I believe that are fun to read too. Some of these deal with different characters that you don't typically see, like Scalphunter, which is cool to read about.

I would recommend this to any die hard Batman fan that is looking for a change of pace.

Batman King Tut Tomb Nunzio DeFilippis Christina Weir Jose Luis GarciaLopez Books Reviews

While this was a pretty short collection, I really enjoyed the very classic feel of old school Batman and the Riddler. The addition of King Tut to the Rogues Gallery is decent. While not as campy as the `60s TV Tut, he was still corny but in a good way. The art captured the nostalgic feel as well. The older books collected here were pretty fun as well. Overall, this a short but fun book.
BATMAN King Tut's Tomb by Nunzio Defilippis, Christian Weir, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and Kevin Nowlan ISBN 978-1-4012-2577-3 for $14.99.

I highly recommend this trade collection of three recent BATMAN CONFIDENTAIL stories published by DC Comics, but only because of the artwork by my favorite living comic book illustrator JOSE LUIS GARCIA-LOPEZ. The storyline about a psychotic business man who becomes obsessed with and eventually posses by the "spirit" of the dead pharaoh of Egypt Tutankhamun is appealing but not enthralling and while the appearance of one of my favorite Batman villains, "The Riddler" is an integral part of the storyline, his presence never raises the level of the story above the mediocre.

What is of course well beyond anything mediocre is the pleasant surprise of the inclusion of three previous Batman stories illustrated by Mr. Garcia-Lopez that follow the main story. So if you are a fan of great Batman art, as I am, then I suggest you run out and get or go online and get a copy of BATMAN KingTut's Tomb.
This is one of those parings between a penciller and inker that is greater than the sum of their parts. Garcia-Lopez' flawless constructions are subtly softened by Nowlan's delicate line work and intricate lighting, resulting in one of the most beautifully drawn comic stories that I've seen in a while. The only downsides are the reprints of earlier work, which kept the garish coloring from the originals (never a good idea on this kind of paper), and whose presentation by other inkers served to highlight just how much better the main story looked. Even Garcia-Lopez' own inking on a Brave and Bold story came off as crude due to the gaudy color pallet. Still, the main story is more than worth the price.
This is a review about and not this book. Packaging for this book was terrible. It was just thrown in a box with no protection whatsoever. Corners are dented and book as a crease in the cover. 's shipping methods have been very poor lately.
Poor condition. Not the good condition that was described.
I LOVED it!!! But I'm a huge Batman fan so I'm a wee bit biased. )
Good stuff
