A Dance for Three Louise Plummer Books

Hannah Ziebarth at 15 has been a caretaker most of her life. She has taken care of her agoraphobic, bonsai-loving mother since she was 13. The girl's father died and Hannah has more or less been relegated to the house.

Her few outlets include school; work; stealing neighbors' roses; playing flute in church and a boy named Milo Fabiano. Arrogant and charismatic, Milo and his fairly affluent large family seem ideal to Hannah. He has two younger brothers, Tony, who is in middle school; Roman, 14 and 7-year-old twin sisters. Hannah just loves Milo and accepts whatever he doles out to her.

Roman is the brother who jumps to Hannah's aid. He protects her when Milo forces her head underwater in the pool; he takes punches from Milo for defending Hannah. Milo's cruelty escalates; he bites Hannah after a kiss and he seduces her in his truck. When Hannah tells Milo she is pregnant, he beats her in an alley behind the greasy spoon where she works.

Shortly after that, Hannah unraveles. She has a psychotic break and thinks she is a tree. Running into the street, she throws her mother's bonsai plants onto the pavement. A neighbor calls the police and she is taken in handcuffs to a local hospital.

Once there, Hannah starts re-evaluating her life. A good therapist as well as a kindly neighborhood bishop help her on her way. The bishop regrets not knowing the burden Hannah was under, acting as caretaker. He promises to help her file a paternity suit and does. Milo's brother Roman is yet another ally; he wants to do the right thing and he makes it plain that he is not like Milo and will love his niece/nephew unconditionally. Roman's plaintive plea that "uncles have no rights" and his insistence that the baby is a part of his family will undoubtedly touch many hearts. He is a bright young man with a lot of compassion.

The other patients in Hannah's group are an interesting and plausible group. Another visitor comes in like the cavalry for Hannah. Her maternal uncle provides her with information and insights that help her even more.

A serious, gritty story about love, forgiveness and hardships as well and redemption. Hannah forgives the neighbor who delivered her mother the committment papers because her mother was still too scared to venture outside of the house; she forgives herself for making decisions she was not ready to make and she makes an effort to make peace with those decisions. An excellent, high caliber book.

A Dance for Three Louise Plummer Books Reviews

I have just finished reading a great book called A Dance for Three by Louise Plummer. I think that Hannah has cleared her mind at the end because her mother was getting better with her emotions and Hannah was through alot but made it through in the end. I enjoyed reading this book because certain parts of the book some teenagers could relate to it with pressure, friends, boys, confusion, not knowing what to do or how to react. I was interested throughout the book because I had many questions so I kept reading and reading.
I don't exactly know why I enjoyed this book. There was just something about it, it seemed so realistic with details on how her life was. She seemed like any other teen. "I don't want to lose you. She said I'd lose you if I didn't change. I don't want that, Hannah. I want to be your mother." Hannah's mother says this on the phone. I think it was important for Hannah to hear this since her mom has been weird since her father died.
The theme of the book is that even though people surrounding you always have advise and in the end you always make the decision on what you think is right. I agree because it's like when Hannah made the decision for her baby. Hannah's mother has also decided to do better in getting out more. I think that I do relate and others do relate too because I hear family, and friends opinions but finally come up with my own solution in the end.
I would recommend this book to others especially teenagers. A friend recommended this book for me she too enjoyed it. I would recommend it because it is an interesting story that seems real and others can relate to. You just want to keep reading about how Hannah and her pregnant situation and what the end will be like.

I love, I love, I love this book. It's one of my favorites. It's so sad and yet so hopeful. I wish I could download all I feel about Hannah to kids who are struggling like her, to let them see how awesome and fun they are and how much I'm rooting for them.
I really enjoyed this book, at first I thought it was going to be a really boaring book and was sorry i had gotten it but I read more and started o develop a care for 15 year old Hannah who finds herslef pregnant by her boyfriend Milo. He abandons her in an alley after beating her up. The pregnancy and and other problems such as the death of her father and her sick mother land Hannah in an institution. There with the help of friends and her therapist she is able to put the pieces of her life back together. the father of her baby Milo is an arogant jerk and he gets what he deserves at the end while Hannah gets a better life, a new self discovery and happiness. I really enjoyed this book it was very touching and I would recomend it to anyone who likes realistic fiction and warm heart touchers.
I couldn't put it down until I finished it. so inspiring for teenagers & young women and for me who is a grandma.
Great product. Fast delivery.
